My name is Steve Bric, and I have been in touch with Larry O'Grady about my brother, Bill Bric.... Bill was killed on August 23rd, 1968 (DaNang FOB 4) during that horrible night time suicide sapper attack.... Bill was SF and had been in country for a few months.... I have been trying to find people who were there that night, and Larry finally miraculous appeared after seeing a posting I did on a SF website.... I also found a fella by the name of Ed Sawicki through a friend... Ed and I actually met and he shared photos and a version of the story from a book about SOG ops..... I have a copy of an article that was written for Soldier of Fortune Magazine about that night.... by a guy named Stryker...

Anyway, Larry had given me your name and email address a good bit ago, and I thought that I had erased or somehow lost it... tonight, Christmas, while sipping a scotch and thinking about my brother I stumbled into Larry's note to me with your info.... He felt that perhaps you were there that night.... and if so, maybe, just maybe you knew Bill Bric....

I hope this is not imposing on you.... I thank you for serving and for all that you and other brave souls have done (and will continue to do) for this great country.... I spent two years (Lt. US Army Artillery) active just after Bill was killed, and because of that I was not sent to Nam.... Spent most of the two years at Fort Ord in the Basic Training Committee Group.... Then a few years in the Reserve... My dad served in China in World War II as a support officer for the Flying Tigers (14th AF), and my mom was Red Cross nurse in China during that war.... We come from a long line of folks who step up....

Thank you again... If you know of anyone who was there that night in Da Nang I'd sure love to get in touch with them.....
